More Layer 2 switch applications, the TL-SG2008 supports a full range of Layer 2 features, including 802.1Q VLAN marking, port isolation, port mirroring, STP/RSTP/MSTP; Link aggregation control protocol and 802.3x flow control function. In addition, switches offer advanced features for network maintenance, such as loop back detection, cable diagnostics and IGMP spying. IGMP Snooping ensures that the switch intelligently forwards the multicast stream only to the right subscribers, while IGMP optimization and filtering are restricted to each subscriber at a port level to prevent unauthorized multicast access.

The TL-SG2008 is easy to use and manage. It supports several easy-to-use standard management functions such as an intuitive web-based graphical user interface (GUI) or the standard command line interface (CLI). Support SNMP (v1/2/3) and RMON, allowing the switch to get valuable status information and send abnormal event interceptions.
