The TS-431P3 includes a 1GbE port and a 2.5GbE port for a smoother multimedia playback and NAS experience. Other QNAP networking options include USB 3.2 Gen 1 to 5GbE adapters (support N-BASET/Multi-Gig), QXG 5GbE PCIe cards, and QSW QNAP 10GbE switches. These options allow users to improve their home network at an affordable price. The TS-431P3 includes three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports that deliver incredible multitasking performance.

Simple and secure file management

File Station allows direct management of files stored on TS-431P3 and in the cloud. Users can easily upload files from computer, drag and drop files between folders, rename files, delete files and set file/folder permissions to prevent unauthorized access. Users can also use Microsoft Office Online to directly view/edit Microsoft Office documents stored on the TS-431P3. Sensitive/confidential data can also be encrypted for added security.

Backup, access and sync files at multiple points

The TS-431P3 supports file exchange protocols (including SMB/CIFS, AFP and NFS) for Windows®, Mac® and Linux®/UNIX® devices. In combination with Qsync (a tool that turns the QNAP NAS into a secure and high-capacity data center for file synchronization), the files uploaded to the TS-431P3 will be available to all connected devices such as computers, laptops and mobile devices. Hybrid Backup Sync helps backup/synchronize files on the TS-431P3 to another QNAP NAS, remote server, or cloud storage to facilitate disaster recovery. Additionally, QuDedup technology significantly improves the efficiency of multi-version backup on target storage while optimizing storage utilization. You can install QuDedup Extract Tool on your computer and restore the deduplicated files to their normal state.

With snapshots, users can quickly restore files to a previously saved state in case these files are accidentally deleted or modified, or if the system is compromised by malware. QNAP snapshots are block based and only record changed data. This not only saves storage space, it also reduces the time needed to back up or restore data.

Surveillance channels can be monitored at the same time using the Vmobile application on mobile devices.
