The MC220L is an electrotype converter designed to convert the optical signal on 1000BASE-SX/LX fiber into electrical signal on 10/100/1000Base-T copper or vice versa. Designed in compliance with IEEE802.3ab 1000Base-T and IEEE802.3z 1000Base-SX/LX standards, the MC220CS is designed to use Singlemode or Singlemode fiber connections through the SFP modules you install, using LC Duplex connectors. It works at 850nm in transmitting and receiving data when adopting Multimode OM1/2/3/4 fiber and 1310nm in transmitting and receiving data when adopting Single-Mode OS1/2.

Capable of being installed in standalone mode (no chassis required) or with TP-Link's TL-MC1400 chassis, the MDI/MDI-X is automatic for TX ports and has status LEDs on the front panel. The MC220L will increase the optical fiber distance when using the SFP module, and the maximum transmission distance depends on the SFP module that is installed.
