KONA 6061 ALUMINUM

Kona 7005 and 6061 aluminum alloys are widely used in the entire mountain and asphalt bike fleet. A lightweight, tough and durable alloy, both the Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts thousands of rides.

ADJUST THE RESISTANCE AND DRIVING CHARACTERISTICS

Much of the 7005/6061 tubing is assembled and/or formed, which means that the wall thickness of the tubing can be increased or decreased, as well as molded, to be able to adjust the strength and conduction characteristics of a specific structure depending on of the intended application.

TRIANGULAR DESIGN

More circumference at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging bearing life and eliminating brake shudder, providing reliable steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger driving position and better balance, giving the rider more control over rough terrain.

COMPATIBLE RIMS WITH TUBELESS

Tubeless rims allow for tires with greater puncture resistance. The ability to run with lower tire pressure provides better road grip, lower rolling resistance and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems.

AXIS 12x142mm

The 12x142, 12x148 and 12x157mm rear axle patterns offer two big advantages to the Kona rider: the 12mm rear axle diameter gives the rear hub and frame a rigid interface, while the 142/148/157mm outer diameter of the hub allows the wheel to be quickly and properly positioned in the frame before inserting the rear axle.

WHEELS 650b

The 650b wheels and tires have an overall diameter similar to a traditional 700c gravel or haul tire, but with a smaller diameter rim and a wider, taller tire. The extra air volume in this new generation of urban and mixed-surface tires means they can comfortably ride at lower pressures while still running quickly on a variety of surfaces. It's the best of both worlds.
