The environmentally friendly DGS-1016S complies with Energy-Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) standards to save energy and reduce heat emissions without sacrificing performance and functionality. When idle or low traffic interface ports are detected, the DGS-1016S automatically transitions them to a low power state, substantially reducing the device's overall power consumption. In addition, the DGS-1016S can determine the approximate length of the cables connected to each port to apply enough energy for data transmission over that link, saving even more energy and reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO).
