Thyme is a well-known aromatic herb, native to Portugal and the Mediterranean region. The most normal use of its leaves is in cooking, but its medicinal properties make it ideal for infusions or homemade syrups. The plant forms a small shrub that can reach 40 cm in height. It can also be grown in pots in a sunny location.

Ground

The crop adapts to various types of soil, however it prefers well-drained, light and fertile soils. The pH should be between 6.5 and 7.0.

Climate

The optimum temperature for its growth is between 16 and 24 ° C, preferring places with good sun exposure, avoiding very humid places.

Sowing

Made in tray with subsequent transplant when the plant has 4 pairs of definitive leaves. The culture can be carried out in lines, keeping between 25 to 30 cm between plants and 60 to 80 cm between lines.
