A variety of classic sized and shaped leeks. It produces thick, white stems of medium height. Very suitable for Portuguese winters, the best time for a delicious leek soup!

Sowing

Made on a tray and later transplanted to the final location. The culture can be done in lines leaving about 15 cm between plants and 45 to 60 cm between lines.

Ground

Despite adapting well to various types of soil, it prefers deep, fertile and well-drained soils. Soils with a sandy-clay texture are the most suitable, and in soils with heavy textures, ridges or lines must be raised in order to allow adequate drainage. The soil pH should be between 6.0 and 6.8.

Climate

It prefers mild climates, without excessive heat, should have good light and avoid shady places. It needs a cold period during its vegetative cycle.

Post-harvest

The upper part of the plant can remain green if exposed to some light and can be kept for several weeks.
