LIGHT, DURABLE AND STRONG ALLOY

Kona 7005 and 6061 aluminum alloys are widely used throughout the mountain bike and cycling fleet. A lightweight, durable and tough alloy, both the Kona 7005 and 6061 deliver fantastic, reliable performance that lasts thousands of rides. Much of the 7005/6061 tubing is assembled and/or formed, which means the tubing wall thickness can be increased or decreased, as well as molded, to be able to adjust the strength and driving characteristics of a specific frame depending on of the intended application.

INTERNAL STEERING BOX

The bearing cups are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also lowers the height, so the stem and handlebar height are more adjustable, giving the rider the best possible fit.

CONICAL HEAD TUBE

More circumference at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock force, prolonging bearing life and eliminating brake shudder, providing reliable steering performance. The inherent strength of its triangular design also means a stronger driving position and better balance, giving the rider more control over rough terrain. A tapered head tube also increases the force where the load is going.

27.5" WHEELS

The benefits of the 27.5-inch wheel are simple: they roll over obstacles and ride better than 26-inch wheels, but are more maneuverable and agile than 29-inch wheels.
